Synonym for misanthropy; inspired from a remark of Dante, who called the gloomy valleys of his home "the front gardens of hell"; also stands, comparable with ying and yang, for the melting of two seeming opposites into a whole (gardens as a symbol of order and control on one and gehenna/hell, synonymous with chaos, on the other side).

Группа De Profundis была основана в ноябре 2005 года вокалистом Крегом Лендом и гитаристом Романом Субботиным. Некоторое время спустя к ребятам присоединились барабанщик Пол Вествуд, гитарист Чарльз Аллин и басист Джоэль Уиллер, доукомплектовав первоначальный состав De Profundis. Написав несколько песен, группа радикально изменяет свой стиль. Музыканты решили убрать мелодичную составляющую, сделав упор на создание более мрачной и тёмной атмосферной музыки. Несколько песен из раннего творчества позже вошли в дебютный альбом группы. В это время легендарный Кристоф Сзпадждель разработал для группы подходящий логотип, который визуально отражает музыку британцев.

Lycanthia play dark aggressive and emotional Metal in a style that would be best described as a fusion of Doom, Classical, Gothic and Rock. .. The popularity of their live shows along with their self titled demo established the band in the Australian Doom Metal underground. Lycanthia's first full length CD 'Myriad' saw them develop their musical style with greater maturity, creativity and originality. .. Working closely and without the confines of a restrictive genre, Lycanthia have sculpted their reactions to existence and the world into a musical expression of harsh and bleak reality. .. November 2006 marks the release of Lycanthia’s latest CD ‘Within the Walls’ which sees the replacement of cello and flute with violin, streamlining their sound whilst creating greater strength and complexity. .. The success of Lycanthia has continued and grown with regular radio airplay and numerous live performances around Australia alongside local and international acts at Metal venues and festivals.

Ashen Mortality - братанская дум-группа, сформированная в начале 1991 Яном Аркли (Seventh Angel) и Мелани Болтон. Они, совсместно с австралийской коммандой Paramaecium наиболее известные группы, играющие Христианский Дум (Christian Doom ). На их счету записи двух демо, двух альбомов, живых выступлений в Англии, Нидерландах и Германии. Характерной чертой исполнения является использование как мужского чистого вокала, так и гроула, а так же женского вокала. Их музыка была тяжелой, с низким темпом и с выраженным влиянием средневековой музыки, дума, дета и готики. Группа распалась в 2005, когда Аркли решил создать My Silent Wake.

Heaven Grey is a Latvian GothicDoom metal band. It was formed in 1993 and soon became one of the most famous bands in Latvian metal underground. Began as a death metal band, then moved on to doom. They had lyrics in English and in Latvian. Band broke up in the late 90ties.Guitarist Sigvard Blazhevich died in 2004. The leadvocalist of Heaven Grey Ansis Melderis died in 24th September, 2005 in the motorcycle accident.
