Right Away, Great Captain!

Good Old War is made up of Keith Goodwin, Daniel Schwartz, and Tim Arnold. The band's name comes from the last names of the three members; Goodwin for Good, Arnold for Old, and Schwartz for War. The band was started after Days Away (former band of Keith and Tim) went on hiatus; Schwartz previously played in Unlikely Cowboy. They recorded some demos for free in a late night session at a recording studio. They have played with Anthony Green on a short stint of dates along the east coast and also at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Texas, as Anthony’s backing band. They are currently on Sargent House, a label which also serves as a management company whose roster includes: RX Bandits, Omar Rodrguez-Lpez, These Arms Are Snakes, Maps & Atlases, Daughters, Love You Moon, Red Sparowes, Tera Melos and Russian Circles. The band recorded their debut album in May 2008 in Los Angeles, with producer Rick Parker who also produced the final EP from Days Away entitled Ear Candy for the Headphone Trippers. Good Old War recorded Anthony Green's album Avalon with him as his band, and will be performing as his band in addition to playing direct support as Good Old War, with Person L (a project featuring Kenny Vasoli of The Starting Line) for a nationwide headlining tour that begins August 6 through September 14, 2008. Anthony Green makes a guest vocal appearance on the track "Weak Man", along with Dave Davison from the band Maps & Atlases who plays a guest guitar solo, also on "Weak Man". They released their self-titled second album on June 1, 2010, which peaked at #150 on the Billboard 200. On April 22 they released "My Own Sinking Ship", the first single off of their new album made available for free download. Good Old War is working on a new album, possibly for release as early as June 2011.

Megafaun

Brothers Brad Cook (bass, guitar) and Phil Cook (keyboards) are from Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, and Joe Westerlund (percussion) is from Eau Claire, Wisconsin. They first met at the H.O.R.D.E. festival in 1997, and played together in various combinations, including in DeYarmond Edison with Justin Vernon. After that band broke up in 2006, Vernon (Bon Iver) went on to record a solo project (2007's For Emma, Forever Ago), and Westerlund and Brad and Phil Cook formed Megafaun.
Megafaun's first release was Bury the Square in 2008, on which the band were described as " away with Edison's polite experimentation in favor of full-bore concrte music, harsh noise salvos, and wild free-jazz interventions". The group's second album, Gather, Form & Fly, was released in 2009 on the Hometapes label. It was described by Pitchfork Media as "a headily absorbing, occasionally unsettling listen", and by Drowned in Sound as "a tapestry of sound collages and a freedom with form which creates a richly textured whole". A third album, Heretofore, was released in 2010. The self-titled Megafaun was released in 2011.
Megafaun has toured with the Mountain Goats, Bowerbirds, Akron/Family, and in April 2012, The Drive-by Truckers, Damien Jurado (August 2012)among others.
The band released its first music video to promote the single "Carolina Days" on PitchforkTV during the spring of 2011. It was made by the art collective Sirocco Research Labs.
They played with Arnold Dreyblatt at the third annual Hopscotch Music Festival in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA which took place September 6–8, 2012.

The Cave Singers
is an American band from Seattle, Washington. Rising from the ashes of Pretty Girls Make Graves after its disbandment in 2007, former PGMG-member Derek Fudesco teamed up with Pete Quirk (of Hint Hint) and Marty Lund (of Cobra High) and began playing in the Seattle area.
Soon after the band's conception, The Cave Singers signed with Matador Records on June 11, 2007.
The band spent time recording in Vancouver with music engineer Colin Stewart, who quickly produced the band's first full-length LP. Before releasing The Cave Singers' debut album, Invitation Songs, the band released the limited edition pre-release 7" "Seeds Of Night" including the b side "After The First Baptism" on August 2, 2007.
A month later, Invitation Songs was released on September 25, 2007 and met with critical acclaim. The second single from Invitation Songs, "Dancing On Our Graves", was released on February 25, 2008.
On 18th August, The Cave Singers released their second album 'Welcome Joy', featuring guest appearances from Amber and Ashley Webber from Lightning Dust.
Matador Records gave away a free download of one of the new tracks, 'Beach House' to fans.
The Cave Singers signed to Jagjaguwar on June 15, 2010. The label will released their third LP, No Witch, on February 22, 2011.

Other Lives

There’s no point in trying to unearth an obvious “single” in Other Lives’ second album, Tamer Animals. Here’s a better idea instead: succumb. Let every last song wash over you like proper long players once did, from the swift strings and pulsating horns—a technique learned from old Philip Glass LPs—of “Dark Horse” to the richly orchestrated denouement of “Heading East,” a cut that could have been cribbed from the early instrumental sessions of Other Lives’ old band Kunek.
